Day 1  - Arrive at Hotel Alahuar, a 4 star hotel in Benimaurell, Vall de Laguar set in the Marina Alta mountains of the Costa Blanca - Drinks reception on terrace with stunning mountain and sea views before we enjoy dinner in the hotel.

Day 2 - 110km 2,100m - The first ride of the trip is set to impress! With spectacular views from the climb of the Vall de Laguar before dropping down to the gentle climb of the Pla de Petracos. Ascending the famous climb of  the Vall d'Ebo and taking in the panoramic coastal views on the 8km descent; this part of the route is a favourite with many of the World Tour cyclists that visit the area for their training camps every winter.   We then head to a fabulous lunch at the summit of the Sierra de Bernia climb with breathtaking views of the Bernia edifice before a gentle ride back and dinner back at the hotel.

Day 3 - 105km/150km 1,800m/3,000m - It's downhill all the way to the coast on the start of this ride before heading up the Jalón Valley making your way through the spectacular and varied mountain scenery.   For those wanting to test themselves there is the option to make this truly epic by adding a 50km loop that includes the famous climb of the Port de Tudons at over 1,000m.   The ride finishes at La Escondida, a stunning boutique hotel near the small mountain village of Penaguila.  Enjoy the indoor and outdoor pools or relax on the terrace overlooking the mountains, before dinner in the hotel's restaurant or on the terrace with fantastic food made by their Michelin-star trained head chef.

Day 4 - 95km/115km 1,700m/2,300m - Starting deep in the mountains and heading further inland through the Sierra Mariola Natural Park to the spectacular hilltop town of Bocairent. We'll stop here for lunch before heading back through the area's other historic towns, this ride promises to be a real treat.   The 20km extension takes on a different ascent of the Port de Tudons at the end of the ride.  The evening is to be spent back at the hotel in Penaguila with dinner in their restaurant or on the terrace.

Day 5 - 115km 2,200m - Heading north through the mountains taking in the spectacular Mirador de Xap, and incredible descent to the lake at Beniarres.  We'll stop along the way for a traditional tapas lunch before heading up to our destination, the historic and fortified town of Xativa.  Our next hotel. Mont Sant, is situated in lush gardens just below the castle wall in a converted monastery. The hotel restaurant offers a mouth watering, gourmet tasting menu.

Day 6 - 130km/150km 1,800m/2,200m - This day will be a circular ride back to the same hotel in Xativa. We will have a couple of options depending on how the legs feel at this stage.  Either ride will take us inland further taking on some of the beautiful roads La Vuelta used when it was in this area in 2009 and 2016.  Lunch will be in a mountain village and dinner back in the hotel's fabulous restaurant.

Day 7 - 80km/115km 300m/1,000m -  Our final day's riding takes us into the city of Valencia, with the option of the Simat-Barx climb's hairpin ascent with its coastal views en route.  We'll then head down through the orange groves to the famous Bomba rice fields of the Albufera Natural Park.  We'll stop here to enjoy a traditional paella lunch before riding into Valencia city centre passing the stunning City of Arts and Sciences before we reach our 5 star hotel, Hospes Palau de la Mar, on a quiet leafy street near the city centre.  Celebrate with a drink on the hotel's terrace before a short stroll into the cities historic centre for more celebrations in one of the city's best restaurants.

Day 8 - Enjoy the complimentary spa and take a walk around Spain's third largest city before heading home.
