Calpe Winter Training Weekend and World Cup Cyclocross

We are delighted to announce our winter training weekend combined with viewing the World Cup Cyclocross.  The weekend will be based at the 4 star Gran Hotel Sol y Mar where many World Tour teams base themselves over the winter months.  The World Cup Cyclocross takes place in Benidorm just a 20 minute drive away.

With average temperature highs of 15 degrees and daily sunshine of 6 hours, January in Calpe is perfect to get some winter training, it is no wonder most World Tour teams base themselves here for their pre-season training

Sample Itinerary:

Day 1 - After arriving, bike set up and rider briefing, a 50-75km (1,000m) loop into the Jalón and Orba valleys.

Day 2 - An 105-115km (2,000-2,300m) ride featuring Vall d'Ebo, Pla de Petracos and the option of the Miserat climb.

Day 3 - The 165km (3,500m) Magnificent 7 support ride (shorter options available) 

​Day 4 - Morning ride to Granadella followed by transport to/from the World Cup Cyclocross in Benidorm including entry ticket to the event to watch the worlds best cyclists in action.

Day 5 - A 70km (1,250m) ride with to the picture perfect El Portet with the option of the Cumbre del Sol.

Protocols and practices are in place in light of Covid-19, in relation to both the hotel and guiding.

We can also provide Ridley Fenix SL and SLIC carbon bike hire from only €20 per day.
